The HRA Gray & Pape Joint Venture (JV) was established in 1997 and combines the resources of two widely recognized regional firms: Historical Research Associates, Inc. (founded 1974), and Gray & Pape, Inc. (founded 1986). The JV offer a broad range of Cultural Resources Management, Historic Preservation Planning, Historical Research, Litigation Support, and other services to clients throughout the United States. With over sixty years of combined experience, HRA Gray & Pape is one of the few consulting firms in the country offering these services nationwide. Our professional staff has experience in most of the 50 states and some overseas locations. We offer skill and resources from over ten offices nationwide and over 140 employees.

NHG Alaska was formed in 2009 as an alliance between Northern Land Use Research, Inc., and HRA Gray & Pape, LLC, to pursue Alaska-based cultural resource projects. NHG Alaska is currently working on the Alaska Pipeline Project as a subcontractor to URS Corporation. URS is providing environmental and regulatory support services to ExxonMobil. The combined regional and professional expertise of the staff at Northern Land Use Research and HRA Gray & Pape has allowed the alliance to uniquely serve the Cultural Resources Management needs of our Alaska clients.
