Boston Harbor Long Island Bridge and utility Corridor Replacement Project

HRA Gray & Pape, LLC., provided archaeological permitting, monitoring, analysis, and reporting to support emergency actions for the Boston Harbor Long Island Bridge and Utilities Replacement Project, located in the navigable waters of Norfolk and Suffolk Counties, Massachusetts. During the winter, Long Island Bridge was condemned, with an immediate stoppage of all vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to its deteriorated condition. A new bridge and a sub-harbor bed utility corridor were proposed to relink Long Island with the mainland. Permitted by both state, Massachusetts Board of Underwater Archaeological Resources (MBUAR), and federal, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), agencies the project was brought to a successful conclusion.
