Virginia Statewide Cultural Resources On-Call Contract

Gray & Pape was awarded three, three-year task order contracts in 1998, 2004, and 2007 for cultural resources with the Virginia Department of Transportation. Gray & Pape managed as many as 30 active task orders per year for the Virginia Department of Transportation and completed 76 Phase I/Identification projects, 27 Phase II/Evaluation projects, and one Phase III archaeological data recovery. Many projects were completed for VDOT under accelerated schedules, demonstrating the firm’s ability to mobilize quickly and complete demanding projects in short periods of time. Working with VDOT, Gray & Pape developed innovative approaches to cultural landscape studies; managed large-scale cultural resources investigations using GIS applications; and utilized remote sensing technologies to expedite and enhance archaeological investigations.
