Yarmouth Historic Properties Survey

The Yarmouth Historical Commission undertook a historic properties survey to identify and document previously unrecorded resources, largely in the areas of West Yarmouth and South Yarmouth, south of Route 28. The intent was to augment the town’s current historic properties inventory producing information on resources located in areas subject to increasing development pressure.

Gray & Pape identified and surveyed 94 resources, with Massachusetts Historical Commission B forms completed for each resource. The vast majority of the resources surveyed were constructed in the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries as vacation houses. None of the individual resources appear to meet National Register of Historic Places eligibility criteria, and no historic districts that meet National Register eligibility criteria were identified.
