Liberty Shorefall Pipeline Natural Gas
Gray & Pape provided cultural resource management support to AECOM for Federal Energy Regulatory Commission certification of the Excalibur Energy/Canadian Superior’s Liberty Natural Gas Pipeline Project. Marine and terrestrial archaeological and architectural resource identification efforts were completed for 12 miles of main line co-located facilities in Middlesex and Union counties, NJ, as well as 54 miles of marine pipeline in New Jersey and New York state waters. The marine archaeological survey was conducted in the Atlantic Ocean, New York Bay, Raritan Bay, and Passaic River. Remote sensing data was analyzed by Dolan Research to assess the number, locations, cultural affiliations, components, spatial distribution, data potential, and other salient characteristics of potential submerged cultural resources within the project area. Work products were submitted to multiple agencies including the New Jersey and New York State Historic Preservation offices, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and Minerals Management Service.
