Phase II Evaluation of Submerged Resources Monongahela River Pool 3

Phase II underwater archeological investigation was designed to identify potentially significant submerged cultural resources in Pennsylvania as part of an ongoing evaluation of submerged cultural resources in Monongahela River Pool 3. Investigation focused on 26 remote sensing targets previously identified in a 1998 magnetic and acoustic survey of the pool. During this project, each of the 26 targets was relocated with magnetic and acoustic remote sensing equipment. A detailed survey, incorporating a grid-like series of closely spaced survey lanes, was completed at all 26 target locations.
